The City of Byron is situated in Central Georgia 15 miles south of Macon along the I-75 corridor. This offers small town living with accessibility to Atlanta, Savannah (Atlantic Ocean), and other desirable locations within a days’ drive. Since the City of Byron is very close to the City of Warner Robins and Robins Air Force Base, it is also regarded as a military town, which reinforces the small-town living community. In 2017, the City of Byron was named the 31st safest city in the state of Georgia.
History is a part of every small town and the City of Byron is no exception. You can’t drive down Main Street without seeing antebellum homes, the Jailhouse Park, the renovated jail and the renovated 1870 Depot Museum and Caboose.
The City of Byron conducts several yearly community functions. The Battle of Byron is held each May to offer fun, competitive games encouraging support of many community projects. The Nightmare of Main Street is anticipated by all each October with ghouls and goblins lining the Main Street offer treats to all those who dare. No one would miss the Christmas parade because it starts the Christmas season.
Byron offers shopping at the Peach Shops and Big Peach Antiques. Everyone looks forward to Saturday Farmer’s Markets featuring local vendors.
The City of Byron encourages its citizens to participate in the ‘Byron Better Hometown’ initiative to improve this community’s quality of life. To learn more about ‘Byron Better Hometown’, visit: http://www.byronga.com/hometown.cfm or call 478.956.5555.
